This website presents background and documentation of the first two phases of the Convergence of Sciences – Strengthening Agricultural Innovation Systems (CoS-SIS) programme. Also the tentative ideas for a next phase are presented. CoS-SIS was an interdisciplinary research programme that took place in Ghana, Benin and Mali, in collaboration with Wageningen University & Research, and resulted in a rich documentation of transformation processes across various agricultural domains in West Africa.

The African partners continue to apply the results obtained during the CoS SIS project. In Mali a new CoS SIS Master has been initiated, which will be provided by the Institut Polytechnique Rural de Formation et de Recherche Appliquée (IPR/IFRA) de Katibougou.

In Ghana the University of Ghana (Legon) has started a new curriculum in which competences and skills needed for CoS SIS type of (action-) research are provided to interested students.
