UNICEF-WHO-World Bank Group: Joint child malnutrition estimates: Key findings of the 2015 edition
An inter-agency team made up of UNICEF, WHO, and World Bank Group researchers released child malnutrition estimates using data up through 2014, which include extrapolation for stunting rates through 2025. The key findings document identifies major trends in stunting, overweight, and wasting across regions and country incomes. Two takeaways of note, among others: 1) The prevalence of double burden (existence of stunting and/or wasting alongside overweight and obesity) is now especially clear in low- and lower-middle income countries; and 2) The absolute number of stunted children in Africa continues to climb even though prevalence is decreasing.
