Mr Sumit Karn has worked as the Nutrition Specialist from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations working for a large-scale (USD 58 million) multi-sectoral project “Agriculture and Food Security Project” in Nepal. Mr Karn has done a Master degree in Public Health from BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Nepal. Sumit has more than 5 years of working experience in the field of maternal, child health and nutrition. Currently, he is working as the research officer for the "South Asia Infant Feeding Research Network-Nepal" and is involved in couple of research projects related to nutrition policy and use of mobile phone for IYCF counselling. Mr Karn also teaches “Food and Nutrition Policy” to master level students.
His key interests are on exploring the multi-sectoral nature of malnutrition, nutrition policy and addressing the problem of malnutrition through agriculture and food based approaches.
